DAY 1(WED) DEPARTURE

Your exciting journey begins as you board your international flight to Shanghai.

DAY 2 (THU) SHANGHAI

Arrive in Shanghai, private transfer to hotel. Balance of the day free at leisure. Orientation walk.

DAY 3 (FRI) SHANGHAI

After breakfast, experience the old world charm of the Bund, the former “Wall Street” of the foreign powers. Continue to futurist Pudong New Territory. Transformed from once fertile farmland, this new area is rapidly becoming the symbol of modern China with its clusters of shinning metal and glass skyscrapers of world class hotels, international financial institutions, and commercial centers towered above the Huangpu River. Later from the lofty platform of Jinmao Tower , you enjoy a stunning view of Shanghai. Wander the classical Yuyuan Garden, surrounded by the bustling bazaar. Then stroll along the ancient lanes of Tianzifang, now home to some of the city’s most popular boutiques and studios. MEALS: B L

DAY 4 (SAT) SHANGHAI

This morning we travel to Zhujiajiao, which is a water town on the outskirts of Shanghai, and was established about 1,700 years ago. 36 stone bridges and many ancient buildings still line the riverbanks of this ancient town today. By traveling to Zhujiajiao you can not only enjoy the authentic experience at traditional southern China water villages, but also save a lot of time spending on the busy traffic. Return to Shanghai with the rest afternoon free to explore the city at own pace. MEALS: B L

DAY 5(SUN)  SHANGHAI-YICHANG BY AIR

Fly from Shanghai to Yichang and board M.S. Yangtze Two cruise to continue your China tour with a memorable 4-night cruising through Three Gorges of the mighty Yangtze River. MEALS: B D

DAY 6(MON)  XILING GORGE  

This morning begin sailing upstream through Xiling Gorge. Today’s included excursion visits the Three Gorges Dam near Sandouping Village. This dam is the largest hydroelectric dam in the world, nearly six times the size of the Hoover Dam. Continue sailing through Xiling Gorge, the longest section of the Three Gorges system, which is comprised of the rapids of Xietan, Qintan and Kongling, collectively known as the Three Rapids of Xiling. DAY 7(TUE)  WU & QUTANG GORGE  

Enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountain passes as you sail through the 25-mile long Wu (Witches) Gorge, famous for its fabled Twelve Peaks. According to legend, the peaks are believed to be the spirits of 12 fairies, the most famous of them being the Shennu Feng (Goddess) Peak, which is topped by a huge rock resembling a kneeling maiden. Today, your included shore excursion will take you on a scenic journey up Shennong Stream, accompanied by local folk songs and dances. Continue through the Qutang Gorge, the smallest of the three Yangtze gorges, and admire its bluffed banks and lush terraced hillsides. MEALS: B L D

DAY 8 (WED) FENGDU EXCURSION

Cruise to Fengdu. Today’s included shore excursion will visit Fengdu’s “Ghost City”, known for its statues of ghosts and devils on Minshan Hill, or the new relocation village built for the families who were forced to move due to rising waters from the creation of the Three Gorges Dam. MEALS: B L D

DAY 9(THU)  CHONGQING-XIAN BY AIR

Disembark in Chongqing and visit Panda Hall in Chongqing zoo before fly to Xi’an, the ancient capital of China for 13 dynasties. This evening, you attend a feast of culinary and cultural delights with a special Dumpling Dinner followed by a fascinating Tang Dynasty Stage Show. MEALS: B SD

DAY 10(FRI)  XI’AN

Today’s sightseeing begins with the magnificent Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses Museum, China’s greatest archaeological discovery! At the excavation site, you’ll have ample time to marvel at this vast army, thousands strong, which was buried 2,000 years ago to guard the tomb of an emperor. Visit the Ancient Defensive Walls of the City before returning to your hotel. MEALS: B L

DAY 11(SAT) XI’AN- BEIJING BY AIR

Fly to Beijing, capital city of modern China. In the afternoon tour the lovely Summer Palace, once the summer retreat and playground for the imperial family and royal court during the late Qing Dynasty. Considered the finest Chinese imperial garden, the Summer Palace spans over 700 acres with breathtaking views, temples and pavilions. Tonight’s dinner features Peking Duck, a regional specialty.   MEALS: B SD

DAY 12 (SUN) BEIJING

Morning enjoy a rickshaw ride along Old Beijing’s Hutongs  (narrow ancient alleys) to discover the sights and sounds of local Beijing life in these traditional Chinese neighborhoods. After lunch break, complete the day with an exciting excursion to the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu section. Mutianyu Section is a bit more remote from the capital, but with smaller crowds, this lesser touristy section of the Great Wall promises a more authentic and rewarding experience. MEALS: B L

DAY 13 (MON)  BEIJING

Spend the morning discovering the city’s Imperial sites at a leisurely pace with your guide and driver. Stand in Tiananmen Square, one of the grandest public plazas in the world, and explore the palaces, courtyards, and pavilions of the Forbidden City, once the exclusive domain of China’s Emperors. Afternoon free at leisure for you to explore the vibrant city on own. MEALS: B

DAY 14(TUE)  BEIJING-HOME

Bid farewell to Beijing. Departure transfer to airport. MEALS: B
