Exploring The World !

Sep 2018, China

My husband and I recently returned from 12 days in China with JBC.

Our travel agent Gabiel Yiu was very helpful with our preparations before hand.

The trip started out with a non stop flight from YVR to Beijing on Air China. A very long but enjoyable flight. There would be a guide waiting with a sign with our names on it.They would escort us to a car and driver.

Very knowledgeable and answered our many questions about what we would be seeing and learning about.

The hotels were all 5 star and gorgeous.

We climbed the Great Wall, took a bullet train to Xian, were amazed at the Terracotta warriors, flew to Chongqing to see the Panda`s in the zoo before boarding our boat for a 4 day cruise on the Yangtze River.

Then we adventured through the 3 Gorges and saw the dam…..the biggest in the world. After our cruise we disembarked in Yichang and flew to Shanghai.

After exploring the beautiful city for a few days we flew home.

Fabulous trip.

There is no place like home.

May 2018, Japan and China

Hi Gabriel:

This thank you is overdue, but thank you for arranging our post Shanghai tour of China. It was quite an adventure  for my wife and myself.

The most important thing I took away from the experience was the need to have guides. And while the various places we visited were important to see,  the availability of guides at each location just made the visits work to ensure that we saw what was meaningful and important, and not getting bogged down with crowds and line-ups and wasting lots of time just trying to figure out what we should see. And the guides also were excellent at 1) dealing with unexpected issues encountered (for example, like not doing the canal tour in Suzhou, because they drained the canals for repairs, but replacing it with a walking tour where we saw much more of the shops than I imagine we would see from a small boat) 2) meeting our occasional  unique needs ( for example, my wife’s legs were extremely sore in Yichang, and the guide suggested a foot massage…we were reluctant, but our guide knew of a reputable place, and it worked for my wife) 3) taking care to rearrange flights at the end of the river cruise as the ship was delayed in arriving at Chongqing, and 4) adjusting schedules at various venues to allow us to spend more time at some locations that we of interest to us and quickly moving on from sites that really didn’t grab our attention.

So, once again thank you for putting this together for us.

It was a unique experience. I can now talk to people about China and Yangtze cruises, thanks to you for putting together an excellent package that exposed us to this part of the world.

Feb – March 2017, Vietnam, Thailand and China Land package

Hi Gabriel,

We arrived home last week from our amazing trip.  We loved everything and want to thank you for putting it all together for us.  Loved Vietnam, especially the rowboat tour through the caves outside of Hanoi.  And loved the Mekong Delta tour.  It was spectacular.  The trip to the Khao Yai National Park in Thailand was fabulous too.  Anne showed us a tremendous time in Penang and we had nothing but blue skies in Beijing.  It was a great trip.  Thanks again!

Patti and Richard Hues.

6-26 October 2015 China Private Leisure Tour

Dear Grace,

Our trip was absolutely fabulous!  Mr. Li and Jessica, our guides in Beijing and Shanghai, were lovely, kind, informative and very helpful.  The two drivers were superb. We were constantly impressed with their ability to navigate the traffic of China. Accommodations were perfect. Thank you so much, Grace, for helping us put the trip and itinerary together.  The only down-side was that Terry and Judy could not experience it all with us due to their tragedy at home.  I am sure they will plan another visit in the future and I will certainly recommend using your services again. The local tour agency you use must be very reliable and tuned in to Western travel expectations.

Please pass along our appreciation to your partner in China and their local guides and drivers.  We feel they are a cut above the rest!

Thanks again for you help and for some super memories.

All the best, Heike Juergens

Dear Grace,

We are now back in Vancouver. May I take this opportunity to express sincere thanks to you for arranging the tour for us, which proved to be much enjoyable. Northstar Adventures under the leadership of Joe provided services that were professional and friendly. Staff in Discovery Inn were friendly, too.

19 Day Vietnam – Thailand – Kula Lumpur – Japan Private Tour

Departure Date: 29 Dec, 2014

Sunday, January 18, 2015 6:01 PM

Hello Mr. Lam

I am back from my trip and everything went perfectly. Hotels were good, food and tours also good. Only thing that one of the Air Viet Nam flights was dalayed a few hours, but nothing you can do, but when we landed at the next city, all the tours were done in the time allotted. Tokyo is very expensive, and I will not be going back there any time soon.

Again Thank you for all your help, and hopefully in the future when I decide to return to Asia, you will be the first person I will call.

Hi Grace – Thanks.  I had a wonderful trip & all the arrangements you made for me we great.  Xian was very enjoyable and interesting.  My guide was fantastic.  The hotel room was great, no problem with the fridge there.  The Hong Kong Hotel was fabulous.  The breakfast buffet was OK.  The train ride was very interesting and the guide in Xian made sure I was in the right car & gave instructions to the train attendants regarding the meal to be served.  She also connected with the person picking me up in Beijing and made arrangements for them to be waiting for me on the platform, which was extremely helpful.  I was well taken care of.  Thank you so much for everything you did.  Cheers Louise

Thanks Bob for your comments. This is the same company that Fay and I used 10 years ago and it is good to hear that you were as pleased with them as we were. A lot can happen in 10 years and of course some guides and drivers are not as good as others. So I am happy that your experience was a good one. The local company that arranged everything is JBC. They are a wholesaler of Asian tours and because of our experience with them, they are the first that we always think of when organizing tours for our clients. It is funny that you mention a Mr. Joe as your driver, because when I think back to our trip, that is the name that comes to mind as well.

I am going to pass your comments on to JBC, so they know that the guides and drivers they are using, are doing a great job.

Thanks again,
Barry Gossen

Just wanted to say “thanks” for organizing the Tour in Beijing for us in April.   I forget thename of the tour company but your should know that Audrey and I were really pleased with the service.  There were four of us and we had a minivan with an excellent and very cute tour guide named Anna and an extrememly skillful driver named Mr. Joe? every day of our visit.  (The Hotel was very adequate also)   Occasionally there was a novice driver along as well.

Anna met us at the airport and had us delivered there on our last day.  She is apparently a graduate of a tour guide course at the university…she told us that she was 33 with a youg baby and lived with her mother.  Her skill at getting us through crowds of people at various sites was remarkable…and her knowledge of everywhere we went amazed me.

I hope Audrey passes on some remarks on her own
